About Iron Kitchen - IWACHU Cast Iron Japanese Teapots - Iron Kitchen
Who is Iron Kitchen? We are a company who loves tea, loves Japan, loves great design and loves cast-iron teapots. In 2011, we took a trip to Japan and made a visit to the IWACHU factory in Morioka. It was a bit of a life-changing experience, well, a tea-drinking changing experience, at least. We bought a teapot and a trivet and brought them back to the UK. When we got home and made our first cup of tea, we were amazed (yes, really!) by the taste of the tea. It was different, full-flavoured and well, exactly what tea should taste like. Friends and family commented on the design and the taste and we thought that it was time to introduce the IWACHU experience to the UK. Now you too can taste the difference. Why buy an Iron Kitchen teapot? An Iron Kitchen IWACHU teapot is for life. The teapots are beautiful, sturdy and practical - an unusual combination. However, there is so much more than good looks and classic design to Iron Kitchen IWACHU teapots. They keep tea warmer for longer – for up to an hour. Tea tastes better as heat is evenly distributed to extract the full flavour of the tea. They make unique gifts and are sent out in individual boxes complete with strainer and instructions. All teapots are imported directly from the IWACHU factory in Japan – each teapot displays the IWACHU trademark as a guarantee of their superior quality. Iron Kitchen has a wide range of colours and styles both traditional and modern. Iron Kitchen guarantees the quality of all products. If you are unhappy (which you won’t be) with any Iron Kitchen product, we will be happy to replace them. If you don’t see a design you like, give us a shout and we’ll see what we can do.
In addition to brewing an excellent cup of tea, an Iron Kitchen ™ IWACHU ™ teapot can be used for hot sake – just remove the strainer, fill with sake and heat on a hot plate (never a naked flame). Alternatively, heat the sake beforehand and then pour into the teapot.
